Have you ever played “Would You Rather…?” with your children, students, or friends? This 25 slide Power-point presentation includes a variety of Would You Rather questions. Some of the questions are thought-provoking, while others are silly and get the kids relaxed and laughing. This is a good ice breaker to get students talking with one another and sharing their thoughts and feelings. This activity is great for both outgoing students and quiet introverted students. When I use this in my classroom I have students make the choice as to which “side” of the question they would be on, by physically getting up and choosing a side of the room (left side of the room for the question on the left and right side of the room for the question on the right). After the students move, I have them turn and talk to each other and share their thinking which can lead to friendly debates as well as the realization of our similarities. I also use this Power-point when my students need a brain break, only showing a few slides per day. It can also be used as a writing prompt or sketching activity to promote their creativity. I hope you’ll enjoy this presentation as much as my students do.
