Through this activity, students will use their knowledge of surface area to determine the amount of wrapping paper needed to wrap boxes that have been stacked together. The students will then compare the data that they obtained from 2 different size boxes. Students will practice with identifying independent and dependent variables as well as Practice with with graphing linear equations. Students will also interpret the y-intercept of their graph and create a linear equation based on their boxes.
Answers will vary depending on the box sizes that are used. Documents can also be updated to fit more of your students needs.
