Full Saying reads "Before you speak and be smart it's hard to fix a wrinkled heart".
Use this saying display and heart templates to teach your students about the effect of words.
Read students the book Chrysanthemum (It could be any book about bullying/name calling really) and have students write something on the heart print outs. Scrunch up the heart and then have students apologize to the scrunched up paper. Unroll the heart once students have apologized. Students will see that their apologies does not take out the wrinkles in the paper.
Very powerful lesson!!!
