Need an ice-breaker activity? Test Review? System to group/partner students? You need Wristband Scavenger Hunt: A Seek & Write Activity!
Your 16 page download contains enough full-color wristbands for up to 30 students. Wristbands can easily be printed once, laminated, and re-used throughout the entire school year! Your Wristband Scavenger Hunt file also includes six different Recording Sheets (some using symbols for early learners and others which are words-only for those in upper grades). All Recording Sheets are in black and white for your printing/copying convenience. Instructions that show you how to quickly and easily get your Wristband Scavenger Hunt going are also included, along with a list of additional ways that you can use your Wristbands.
Check out just of a FEW of the ways you can use your Wristbands:
*BACK-TO-SCHOOL and/or ICE-BREAKER GAME: Print each student's name on an individual Wristband. Students will get to know each other's names as they introduce themselves and record each child's name on their Recording Sheet.
*SKILL and/or TEST REVIEW: Write a different piece of data on each Wristband (a spelling word, "8 x 7 = 56", a sight word, etc.). Students get extra practice reading, writing, and memorizing in a fun way!
*PAIRING or GROUPING STUDENTS: Print two copies of each Wristband. Students who get the same symbol are partners! Print multiples to determine groups--including choosing teams for a group game. They're also prefect for when you leave school and kids need to keep track of their field-trip "buddy"! Want to organize kids into controlled groups that YOU choose? Simply print multiple copies and write each child's name in the Wristband before distribution.
*IDENTIFICATION: Perfect to keep track of groups for center rotation--just print multiple copies of desired Wristbands...and students always know where their group is, even if they have to leave the room for awhile! Wristbands are also great for getting to know student names at the start of the year...and for when you have a substitute!
*KINESTHETIC TEACHING of SPECIFIC SKILLS: *Take notes the fun way--Write basic facts/statements on each Wristband. Students record them. Way better than a lecture! *Get ready to alphabetize--Write the name of the symbol pictured on a Wristband in the rectangle. Let kids get everyone in ABC order! *Have early learners practice sorting--Is the symbol on their card something to eat? An animal? Red? Blue? Green?
