Write Around the Room Transportation Words

Write Around The Room.... Simple, independent, and engaging center activity! This center includes 12 word cards with color pictures, and two different recording sheets, with pictures as well to support student success in locating words.

Simply copy the word cards, cut apart, laminate if you wish, and post all around the classroom.

Students use one recording sheet at a time to help them find words and write them next to the matching picture.

Since there are six places to record on each page, there is an element of a memory game, when students realize that they may find a picture around the room, but it may not be on that recording sheet. After they complete the first page and have an opportunity to do the next, they will feel quite clever when they remember where they saw picture(s) that they now need to locate! This center is great for learners needing more support but wanting to be independent!

Writing Center..... Two beginning writer response pages that focus on different modes of transportation, and basic writing conventions, plus Transportation Writing Work Cards with transportation vocabulary and pictures for writing center, chalkboard center, and block center.

Addition Around the Room: Copy cards onto card stock and laminate. Post around the room, or in one area if desired. Copy recording sheets. Students count objects to add and record.
