This fun, versatile activity can be used to introduce vocabulary words in a whole group lesson, guided reading lesson, independent lesson, word wall activity, homework, center, etc.
NO PREP! Print and pass out!
This activity can be used over and over, but in a different way each time. The students will write a vocabulary word in each box of the first column. (or you could pre-write the words before copying) They will then draw a picture of what the word means. Last, they will use the vocabulary word in a sentence. It can either be a sentence they make up, or it could be used for locating context clues, it could be a sentence that uses the antonym of the word, etc. They could write the sentence that helped them figure out the meaning of the word. It could even be writing the definition of the word. The possibilities are plentiful!
This item includes one activity that can be printed front to back. One set has lined paper for younger students, and the second set is not lined.
**Update** I have included a version of this activity that included students writing the definition as well as a synonym and antonym for the word!
