This set of task cards brings together drawing, writing, and geometry - all in a simple and relaxed exercise. The students are asked to copy a simple doodle and then describe it in one or two sentences. In the process, they will sharpen their power of observation, tune their descriptive writing skills, and have a chance to use some specific terms from their geometry class ("perpendicular", "segment", "closed line",..).
You can also use the cards to play a game: ask a student to look at a card and describe the doodle. Ask other students to draw it from the verbal instructions and see how the results compare to the original.
I also included some cards to practice drawing from simple instructions and four reflection cards to use with advanced students for more in-depth thinking.
Double sided answer sheets are provided for each type of card.
