Making Words, Writing Words is a great way for beginning writers to practice listening for sounds and writing words. While it is designed for a literacy center activity, it could also be used for intervention or a buddy activity.
The resource includes:
Detailed teacher’s notes
Instructions for a modeling lesson
Modeling Lesson picture card
Recording Sheet (printable or use in a clear plastic sleeve as a write on/wipe off activity)
12 themed picture cards (with themes like animals, foods, at school, what should I wear? and more)
4 misc. picture cards
Students can write nouns or verbs to tell about the pictures. There are no right or wrong answers. Provide magnetic letters or an iPad letter board app to make the activity more hands on!
I hope your little learners have fun learning to write words on their own!!
