For students who like to draw as well as write about topics, this is a handy sheet to have on hand. When we do story starters, it is nice for students to also have the option to illustrate what they wrote about. You can use it in a number of ways. Another thing the students enjoyed was drawing a picture, trading papers, and then writing about the picture that someone else drew. They have interesting conversations afterward when the writer and the illustrator meet up discuss the vision that they each had in mind. You can use it for holidays or sharing activities so that students can both draw and write about their experiences or opinions or memories. One other thing for reading is to focus on characterization by illustrating the character and describing the traits below. It can also be a Wanted poster for a character or for PBIS/Character Education and good character traits that are wanted and what they look like. The possibilities are endless!
