Product Description
Do your students love to write the room?
Well here are three Write the Room games for you and your students! Each games is organized by levels A-G...(A-E are from Jan Richardson's list of words)

The first game is your typical Write the Room where the students go around the room with the recording sheet on a clipboard. They look for the cards with this clip art, lift the flap and record the word on the corresponding line. (look at the picture above the word and find the same picture on the recording sheet.) When they are done finding all the words, have them read the words to a friend.

The second game is "Mirror, Mirror" ... The students go around the room with the recording sheet on a clipboard and a mirror. They look for the cards with this clip art, lift the flap and read the word by holding the mirror up to it. (The word is written backwards so they need the mirror to reverse it!) Then record the word on the corresponding line. (look at the picture above the word and find the same picture on the recording sheet.) When they are done finding all the words, have them read the words to a friend.

The third game is "What Word is it?" The students go around the room with the recording sheet on a clipboard and a magnify glass. They look for the cards with this clip art, lift the flap and read the word by holding the magnify glass in front of it. (The word is written tiny so they need the magnify glass to read it!) Then record the word on the corresponding line. (look at the picture above the word and find the same picture on the recording sheet.) When they are done finding all the words, have them read the words to a friend.

To make the games ... Print out the pages and cut out the cards. Be sure to keep each set separate. I would recommend making one level set at a time so they don’t get all mixed up.
Next cut the construction paper that you will glue to for your lift flaps.
(I made mine 4.5 x 8)
Something to consider is to make each “game” a different color, a color that you also have the same color copy paper so you can make the recording sheet the same color. Ex: I made the “Write the Room” cards on blue construction paper and I will print the recording sheet on blue copy paper to match. I made the “Mirror, Mirror” Game cards and recording sheet on yellow, and I made the “What’s the Word?” game cards and recording sheet on green. This is particularly helpful if you choose to have all three games going at the same time.
Glue the clipart to the outside and the word part on the inside. When done, laminate so you can use from year to year. I keep each “game” in a sandwich size zip-lock bag and put the three games for each level in a gallon zip-lock bag.
