Whenever we do write the room, my students are so engaged! They love scrambled sentences as well so putting the two together equals super student engagement!
For this activity, students will choose a picture from their recording sheet and then walk around the room looking for the words that match that picture. They will choose the first word for the sentence and write it on the line beside the corresponding picture. They will continue until they have found all of the words that match that picture and have written them in order. They will then read their sentence. They will repeat this process for the remaining sentences.
This center is simple prep: print, cut, and display the word cards around the room. I plan to print the recording sheet front to back to save on paper. You can also choose to have this as a scrambled sentence center, instead of displaying them around the room!
This pack includes differentiated cards: one set with numbers to guide students and one set without numbers. I have also included 2 retell pages and a typed copy of the nursery rhyme with word pieces. Students can order the nursery rhyme to practice sight words, word order, and fluency. The word pieces are black and white so you can print on colored paper for a pop of color!
This pack addresses the following common core standards:
RF.1.1a- Recognize the distinguishing features of a sentence (e.g., first word, capitalization, ending punctuation).
RF.1.3g Recognize and read grade-appropriate irregularly spelled words.
**This pack will be part of my 'Write the Room: Nursery Rhymes' Bundle when all packs are complete.
