This activity/handout provides a structured setting for students to give one another's essays feedback as the begin the revision process. This workshop focuses on the quality of the introduction and thesis, the structure of the essay and its body paragraphs, as well as the use of evidence. As such, this activity is best used in the literature or social studies setting.
In my classroom, I originally used this activity as students began to revise a DBQ essay they had been writing. It worked as a great way for students to share their ideas about the documents in a structured setting!
The set-up of this handout assumes that copies of students' essays are available for their peers, but the activity is easily adapted to work in a computer lab over Google Drive.
