With the writer's toolkit, students have easy access to checklists, writing prompts, word lists, and more!

Using two file folders, and the templates provided in this resource, you can easily create a mobile writing "cubicle" office that students can use when working in pairs, small groups, or independently.

The Writing Toolkit Includes:
* Common core writing prompts for a variety of writing genres including explanatory, opinion, narrative, creative, response to literature, and research-based writing.
* Checklists for each stage of the writing process to help them complete all the essential tasks in each stage (prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing)
* Words lists that help students with their word choices include better words to use for common or dull words as well as sensory word lists
* Punctuation cards with common punctuation rules
* Checklist for checking their writing with the C.O.P.S acronym (capitals, order/organization, punctuation, spelling)
* Word list with correct spelling of days of the week and months of the year
* The writing "sandwich" to help with paragraph structuring
* A checklist of things to capitalize
* A list of transition words and phrases to help students give their writing a better flow

The Writer's Tool kit is provided in color and black and white.

This resource also includes teacher directions for assembling and an editable file in PowerPoint to allow you customize the word lists and writing prompts for the toolkit.
