Imagine you are sitting in a group of 6 of your peers. Each one of them has a copy of your essay. You read a paragraph out loud. As you read, your peers make marks on your essay. You stop after a paragraph. After a few seconds of waiting, someone starts and shares what they enjoyed, adding on that a certain sentence confused you, making you realize the wording was in fact awkward.
This is one of my favorite lessons to do. My principal loves it. My students love it--they say they like it better than any other method for peer review used by other teachers. I'm happy to make this resource free and hope you will find it as impactful as I have.
