Writer's Workshop Lesson Plan/TC Format: Using Onomatopoeia to Enhance Writing
Product Description
This is a formal lesson plan that includes all components: Teaching Point, Rationale, Standards, Materials List, Motivation, Teaching, Active Engagement, Link, and Share. I also included pictures of the charts that can be used during the lesson, and as anchor charts afterwards. Some materials to make the charts are also included. If you are engaging your students in the Crafting True Stories Unit of Study, or in writing personal narratives or fictional stories, this lesson can be inserted anywhere in the unit. It can also be used for a formal or informal observation. The books that are suggested are Shortcut by Donald Crews, and The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything. You can also use any books that have a lot of onomatopoeia, like Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. It can be used in second through fourth grades.
