This product is designed to help young students with the writing process. It is loosely based on Lucy Calkin's Writer's Workshop model. This product can also be used with pre-K, 1st, and even 2nd graders. My other Writer's Workshop Task Card file has "kid-friendly" language. I have had several customers ask for the formal language since it is required by their school district. The cards included state the steps of the writing process:
1.) Immersion (teacher and students)
2.) Generating Ideas (brainstorming)
3.) Selecting an Idea (graphic organizers)
4.) Collecting (researching for the draft)
5.) Drafting (writing about the idea)
6.) Revision (adding/deleting words)
I printed the cards and hot glued them on heavy duty paper plates. Students move their clothespin (with their name) to each plate as they complete each step of the writing process.
