Writers Workshop (Writers Eye)
Anchor Charts - I post these at my writing center station but they can also be displayed around the classroom. They are smaller cards for limited space (perfect to go along with other writing charts)
Bookmark - bookmark shaped card, I give each of my students one of these as a writing check list
Writing Process Clip System - I put all my students name on a clothes pin and place them on the chart. All of them start on the top of the chart (planning). During the writing process when students are ready they chip their clothes pin to the next step (drafting) and so on. This gives students self managing skills and allows the teacher to check in individually with students who are ready for the revising or editing step. This system has changed my writing teaching time tremendously. Students write the whole time with voices off. They visually see what steps they should be on in throughout the writing process before asking the teacher.
I suggest to print everything on card stock. I would print the writing process sheets on different colored paper, tape them together in order and laminate for longer usage.
