Teachers and students enjoy quick writes and writing prompts about literature, quotations and current events. Writing genres are presented to students in easily consumable form. Teacher may present the writing prompts on an overhead or run off a class set which may be used and re used. Writing genres offered in the Writing About Literature and Our Lives series may include business letters, persuasive essays, autobiographical narratives and/or current events. The creator of this series has taught 2-12 grades and college. The writing prompts offered are engaging and work well when the teacher reads the prompt aloud. Teacher may use "Think Aloud" technique offering her ideas and also calling on students to offer their ideas aloud. Student sample essays are often included in the series so students have a touchstone when beginning their own writing. Enjoy writing again with your students. Specific standards such as Literary Analysis 3.4 are often included. Creator has been a writing teacher for 27 years.
