PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This writing unit includes five days of writing lessons that will help make students aware of where they live in their country.

The writing lessons will study plants, reptiles, birds, and other state creatures. The week’s book could take on the shape of the students’ state, the state’s outline could be drawn on the cover, or the cover might contain an outline of their country with their particular state highlighted, labeled, or colored.

I have included templates with this unit to help students understand the concepts of city, state, country, and continent. Students will still have difficulty with the concept because of their developmental age but they enjoy learning and talking about these worldly concepts.

Since young children truly enjoy learning about animals and plants, this week’s writing will explore the plants and animals that exist around them.

I hope your students enjoy these writing activities and as always if you have any questions please let me know!

Along with the writing activity packet above, I also offer a variety of other one week writing downloads specifically for K - 2nd grade. To preview these writing packets please click on the links below.
