Need writing ideas and activities for the whole year? This bundle has you covered! From back to school, fall, winter to summer and the end of the year, there are TONS of writing ideas packed into these resources.
I always find I’m looking for new writing ideas to use with my students not only during our writing block, but also as homework, Daily 5 or quick writes. These resources are built around three themes perfect for each time of year. Each theme starts with a brainstorming sheet. I also included a variety of planning and graphic organizers, as well as paper to be used for a final copy. Most of the organizers are lined and unlined – I find each of my students needs something different.
The table of contents at the beginning of each theme
(and at the very beginning of the resource) is hyperlinked, so
all you need to do is click on the topic title and you can jump
to those pages you need!
This resource is all about variety – variety in topics, organizers, etc. I did choose to use a similar format for each type of organizer so students are familiar with the set-up. You won’t find any cute crafts or cut-outs to use for a fancy display. As teachers, we know that much of our students’ writing is not “published” in the traditional sense, but is created to be shared with others in less formal ways. Use the organizers to brainstorm ideas. Then choose an organizer to use for writing. You can always stop there! For many beginning writers, just getting their idea down on the planning sheet in an organized way is tough enough! But if you want to
go further, I included writing paper themed for each topic.
