All life is a journey. This activity lets students create a pictorial life map from their birth to the present day. The project will be completed totally by using images with brief captions.

Although I have used this assignment in conjunction with teaching The Odyssey Literature - The Odyssey Unit Plan, it can accompany any story that involves a journey, such as Into the Wild Unit Plan.

I used this with Middle School and High School students, but upper elementary students would enjoy this activity, too. This is an engaging project for the first week of school to help you and students to get to know each other, or anytime during the year.

As always, this activity- PDF version- may be downloaded and printed for classroom use. Also, an Easel Activity is ready to be used for Google Classroom. Teachers may choose to add an interactive layer of their own for digital use by clicking on the red "Use as a Buyer" rectangle on the product's page.

For Distance Learning, students can make their life journey on line by copying and pasting images and typing the captions.

For Classroom Learning, students can still complete this activity online, or can either draw or attach images to sturdy paper, and write the captions, or type them and then cut and paste them to the paper.
