These anchor charts will introduce, explain and model most writing tasks for Elementary students. These are recipes or instructions for successful writing of 8 common text types! Great display for a Writing Center or as reference resources pasted into individual notebooks.
These are the 8 Text Types taught in Australia, but I think are valid to all students. There is a US and Australian version.
They are illustrated and easy to understand. They include details of the purpose, structure and special language requirements/suggestions of each type
Types of writing (or text types) are classified or sorted according to their particular purpose. This purpose determines the structure, language and most characteristic features the student needs to use.Work is marked according to this criteria.
Once a student understands and becomes familiar with each text type and the expectations of its structure and special language requirements, he/she will be able to complete all tasks successfully and confidently.
These posters match well with my Writing Task Cards
