Product Description
Dear Teacher,
This is a collection of task cards meant to assist in the practice the essential elements of a successful persuasive letter or essay. They are meant for students who are already familiar with persuasive writing, and who need a refresher before beginning writing. I hope your students get a feel for how to best utilize all the ways they can make their writing more convincing, and learn how to write for or against something, even if they don’t agree with it (one of the hardest things for young writers to do!).

This set would be great in an honors level 7th or 8th grade Language Arts class, or even for 9th and 10th graders. It is meant to challenge and create better writers. Try using them in small groups, or as a progressive writer’s workshop.

18 Task Cards cover:

2-Prewriting-Audience and Tone
2-Prewriting Practice
4-Writing a Topic Sentence
2-Choosing a Topic
2-Persuasive Strategies
2-Shaping an Argument
2-Conclusions
2-Writing Practice

Thank you!
