Whether you are looking to start a writing center in your classroom or looking for new writing activities, this packet will keep students excited about writing all year long. This packet includes 15 different writing activities. Each writing activity has one or more variation with kid friendly templates to allow for students to work independently. Great for “Daily 5” or Literacy Center.
During my literacy block, I use Daily 5. I’ve always struggled with keeping my students engaged and excited about their “Work on Writing” time. Over the years, I’ve tried many approaches which led me to compile a variety of activities. These are all “kid” tested and approved by my students and my sanity. My students are excited about going to their “Work on Writing” rotation and the writing activities they get to do. The best part is...they are motivated to write. Students are in charge of their own writing activity which allows them to be in charge of their learning. Giving students the choice, changes their attitude from “what they HAVE to write” into “what they GET to write.” This packet supports the growth mindset philosophy in the classroom.
