PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Story Pals Robot – Level 2 is a fun way to get students to write about what they have read. This cut and paste activity asks the student to draw and write about what has happened in the beginning, middle, and end of the story they read. It can be used with any story and is a great way to cover reading, writing and art!

The Level 2 robot is designed to help students who are just learning to write retell what they are reading. The student is to draw pictures on the robot and write one sentence about what they have drawn to show their comprehension of what they have just read.

This is a black and white activity to make copying easy. The cover is the only included page that is in color. There are 8 pages in this activity.

Details:
- the activity is cut and paste so students will need glue and scissors
- the activity also ask student to color their robot so they will need crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- when assembled the robot will measure about 20 inches in width by 24 inches in height

Number of Students Served:
This activity can be reproduced to serve all of your students.

Instructions:
1.) After reading the story, draw what happened at the beginning of the story on the left arm of the robot. It is labeled beginning.
2.) When you have finished your drawing, write one sentence about what you have drawn on the lines below your drawing.
3.) Draw what happened in the middle of the story on the bottom of the robot. It is labeled middle.
4.) Then write one sentence about what you have drawn on the lines below your drawing.
5.) Draw what happened at the end of the story on the right arm of the robot. It is labeled end.
6.) Again, write one sentence about what you have drawn on the lines below your drawing.
7.) Write your name, the title of the story you read, and the author’s name on the body of the robot.
8.) Color the rest of the robot.
9.) Cut out all 5 of the pieces.
10.) Glue the head, arms, and bottom of the robot to the body of the robot. The piece that says glue to body should be behind the tab on the body so you don’t see the writing when glued.
11.) The final step gives students a picture of what the robot should look like now that they are done.

***Note***
This activity refers to a left and right side. This is the students right and left; not the robots.
