Product Description
Centers are fun and a chore at the same time. It's not always easy to change them out from week to week. So I've created a roll the die sheet where they roll a die and whatever number they roll is the prompt they write about. Since sometimes it's hard for their little minds to start thinking, they do better with a sentence starter / writing prompt. If there's still time at the center, then they can roll again and continue rolling. There are six different prompts so this should take up the whole time. They can even roll and write a story with a partner to change things up. I also make them draw, label, and color a picture to match their story after they are done writing. Then they get to read and share their story and illustration with a a partner at the writing center. I've done it various ways, where each student has their own writing journal to record in when they are at the writing center or a class writing journal that stays at that center and they add to it when they are there. The best part about it is all you have to do is just change the prompts out and now you're set! :)
