These anchor charts and printables are perfect for beginning writers. Use these in a writing center throughout the school year as your students work through multiple stages in their writing development. This product helps students through 3 stages of writing: drawing a picture/labeling a picture, writing a sentence, and writing a short story.

  • All anchor charts include both color and black and white versions. Sentence writing and story writing anchor charts are also included in mini printable versions. These small versions are perfect to give to students so that they can personally check their writing as they go!

Writing Printables Included:

  • Blank paper with a simple border for drawing pictures (3 options)
  • Simple border and one printing line (3 options)
  • Sentence writing practice pages: Pages to write a sentence with the small anchor chart in the bottom corner so that students can check their work.
  • CVC & digraph practice pages (half sheets): Students can look at a picture of a CVC word. They practice writing the word, writing a sentence with that word, and then drawing a matching picture. (10 CVC options and 4 digraph options)
  • I Can Write sentence pages: Pages with 4 CVC words on each. Students practice writing the CVC word, and then a matching sentence (10 options).
  • Story writing pages: generic pages with printing line or regular line options.
  • Seasonal story pages: Fall, Winter, Summer, Spring
  • CVC word family story pages: Story pages are included for each of the following word families: at, ad, an, ap, et, en, ig, in, ip, og, op, ot, ug, un, ub
  • Sight Word story pages: Each page includes 4 sight words in a word bank. Students can write a sentence using those words (11 options).
