When children start to write I love to have charts that support them in their ability to visualise what they are writing.
When children are familiar with the Alphabet Chart they can then learn how to write using this writing chart.
This Beginning Writing Chart includes light picture clues behind each letter as a visual reminder of the Beginning Sounds
I encourage each child to do the following -:
1. Say their sentence
2. Type their sentence hearing beginning sounds
3. Find words that are in their sentence
As each child becomes familiar with hearing their sounds then writing what they hear they develop in their writing. Giving a clear process with visual clues that supports them is critical to their beginning writing development.
