Writing Checklists

Reusable editing bookmarks/checklists for peer editing & self checking!

After writing their good copies, have students self-check their work by looking over the checklist and marking off the steps that have been completed.

Have students exchange their final drafts with one another and use the editing checklists to peer-edit. Then have them return the written work along with the checklist so that further corrections can be made, as necessary.

4 Writing Checklists Are Included In This Pack:

WRITING CHECKLIST: capitals, punctuation, makes sense, finger spaces

NARRATIVE CHECKLIST: topic sentence, the story happens in order, includes details, closing sentence

WRITING TO INFORM CHECKLIST: topic sentence, there are many facts about the topic, makes sense, closing sentence

OPINION WRITING CHECKLIST: topic sentence, statement about opinion, many reasons are given to support my opinion, closing sentence

Print & laminate the checklists, and have students use dry erase markers so they can be used over and over again!
