These two differentiated writing checklists encourage students to check and edit their work prior to submitting it. The checklists ask students if they: echoed the question, used text details, used correct punctuation and capitalization, and reread their response. A simplified checklist was created for younger students.
In my classroom, these checklists are already cut and placed in an easily accessible location for students. When the students write a response, they take a checklist and staple (or tape/glue) it right onto the page and complete the checklist after they write their response.
