A Writing Conference Journal is a journal that students keep with them to use during their writing conference with their teacher. It allows the students to monitor their own progress in writing and also provides a reminder of what they have been doing right. The teacher and student collaborate and jot down their main "points" at the end of the conference. It includes a "celebration" in which the teacher jots down what she loved about the student's writing and also a "next step" or "goal".
