This Writing Conferencing/Marking Board is an easy, visual way of knowing where your students are up to in the writing process and when they are ready for marking. It also shows you in which order you need to visit each student for marking so that you do not miss any one out/keep a student waiting too long.
1. Laminate and cut out the different coloured squares
2. Write children's names on the chart
3. Place sticky dots next to their names on the chart and on the backs of the cut out squares
Students each begin with a green square next to their name which means they are writing. When they are ready for editing the change to the yellow square. When they are ready for conferencing/marking with the teacher they put a yellow numbered square next to their name. The first student will be number one, the second number two and so on. Once you have marked student number ones work - they take number one down and put it somewhere where it can't be used until the next writing session.
