This is a simple but fun activity for students to practice writing realistic dialogue. Students are given five images (plus a completed example). For each image, they must write a line of realistic dialogue for each "character." There are reminders at the top about what dialogue should include.
In my class, we did this as a warm-up while they were writing their own narratives. I used Google Docs, but it can easily be printed and distributed. It would also work well in centers or as a homework assignment.
There is also a bonus section where students can draw their own image and write dialogue (or find one in Google Images). My students said this activity was fun, and I also felt it was effective practice...win/win!
