Writing Directions Challenge is a fun activity that allows students to practice writing, listening, and speaking skills!
Students are handed a random geometric picture (40 are included in this product). Then, each student must write down clear directions for how they would draw the picture. Next, students read the directions they wrote to another student who has not seen the picture, and that student must draw the picture by listening to the directions that were written. After both students have a chance to read their directions and draw their partner’s picture, students compare the drawings to the original pictures and determine how to edit their instructions.
Included in this product are:
• A How to Use page
• 40 geometric pictures
• Sheets for students to draw their pictures on
• A list of helpful transitions and prepositions
• Paper for students to write their directions on
• A page of questions to help students analyze what worked in their directions and what could be improved upon
