PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Writing Endings PowerPoint: This small bundle contains a PowerPoint that can be used in a writing lesson when you are teaching students how to write endings that will wrap up your narrative for your reader. This resource contains a 36-slide PowerPoint, an interactive notebook page, and bookmarks that can be given to students to serve as a reference.

The following seven ending styles are presented:

1. Reflection

2. Lesson Learned

3. Thought or Feeling

4. Think about the Future

5. Image

6. Action

7. Circle Back to the Start

At the beginning of the PowerPoint, a student writer (Raul) asks for help revising his "we went home..." ending. After each ending style is introduced, an ending of that type is shown that Raul could use with his narrative. Therefore, students see all of the different options they have when writing an ending for one particular story.

The last twelve slides of the PowerPoint show endings from well-known chapter books. Students identify which type(s) of endings each author used in each book.

Finally, a short explanation page for teachers is included with the interactive notebook entry.
