There are a total of 10 worksheets with 5 word problems each, all multiple choice. All problems ask students to choose the equation that best represents the situation in the word problem. Students are not asked in the directions to solve for the variable. Situations in the word problems include but are not limited to: geometry (perimeter, area, volume), science (fun facts, basic formulas), buying goods and services (tickets, plants, haircuts), recreational activities (sports, reading, video games), and various real-world scenarios.
Hints are provided when a certain formula is helpful or necessary (about 1-2 problems per page). The formulas used in this product include:
*density = mass/volume
*speed = distance/time
*perimeter of a square = 4 x length of one side
*perimeter of a rectangle = 2 x length + 2 x width
*area of a rectangle and square = length x width
*volume of a rectangular prism = length x width x height
*area of a triangle = ½ x base x height
Answer key is included.
These sheets are great for:
*During modeling or guided practice
*Independent practice/end of lesson assessment
