This lesson helps students choose their own seed ideas while considering topics, theme, character motives, the quest, and the plot within the fantasy genre and includes learning targets, an objective, graphic organizers, and accountable talk stems for students to use when engaged in THINK~PAIR~SHARE and TURN~AND~TALK. In addition, it includes a list of topics and scaffolded steps to help students determine theme.

This lesson focuses on choosing a seed idea. The presentation is for one teacher and his/her students.
