In teaching my students, I found that many of them struggled with writing multiple paragraph essays. They would end up having poorly focused papers, writing in one big, long paragraph, or struggling with organizing their thoughts. It can seem insurmountable to take students from writing sentences to multiple paragraph essays, but they are capable!
That is why I created this resource. I wanted to help guide my students through the writing process in small chunks. By doing it a little bit at a time, your students can produce a great end product.
I wrote this guide explaining the process step-by-step, but I would not suggest attempting to do this all in one day. I would suggest doing a little bit at a time over the course of weeks. Once students have the process down, then you can condense the amount of time spent on writing.
The great thing about this guide is that it can be adapted to many different types of papers. It can be used for personal narratives, persuasive papers, informative papers, or even research papers. My examples are for a personal narrative, but this guide can be used for all different kinds of papers. I use it for most of the writing in my class.
