This worksheet provides an introduction to writing a strong introduction paragraph. It includes work on grabbing the reader's attention and stating a claim or thesis. It gives a list of grabber sentences, suggestions for important information to include in an introduction, and then ends with three sample introductions that students must rate and then justify their rating.
A great way to introduce writing introductions. The samples use ideas from the novels The Giver by Lois Lowry and others.
