PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This teacher-friendly aid will help you teach the importance of an excellent introduction to your students! It can be used for individual, partner, group or whole group instruction!

The first set of introductions compares the introduction of the book Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain to a made up introduction that students will find extremely boring. The 'boring' introduction for Tom Sawyer is typical of what students would come up with for a narrative.

The second set of introductions are made up introductions for a biography on Steve Jobs. The first is a typical student introduction and the second provides a more intriguing introduction that will leave student wanting to read on!

Students will be able to see why intriguing introductions are important to writing. This activity could be used in a variety of ways in your classroom!
