This product is designed for students that are level 2 or higher.
There are 40 groups of 3 unrelated sentences. The objective is to write additional sentences to make a short paragraph/story. You must develop an idea that incorporates each of the 3 sentences. All 3 sentences must be included. The idea is to make a logical paragraph using the 3 sentences as well as your own original sentences. The final product should be a short story in Spanish.
Here is an example in English, so the idea of what needs to be done is clear.
There is a girl wearing a red dress.
Pencils and pens are on all the tables.
It is a bright and sunny day.
During the month of June the market in town is a popular place to go. Many people flock to the market. It is a bright and sunny day. People come from all over the city to buy fresh meats, flowers, fruits and vegetables. There are people of all ages walking around, looking at all the things there are to buy. A group of girls gather some fruit and pay the worker at the stand. There is a girl wearing a red dress. She is walking with a little boy who is wearing a suit. They are walking over to a part of the market where there are tables and chairs. Pencils and pens are on all the tables. The boy and girl take pencils and sit down to draw at one of the tables. There are other boys and girls doing the same thing. Everyone seems to be enjoying the afternoon at the market.
For the rest of this packet, students work on a set of sentences that they choose for the given class time. They may choose to start anywhere in the packet. The only requirement is that they select a group of sentences that they have not yet worked to develop. Each well developed story should have at least 9 sentences, which includes the 3 given sentences. It will be difficult to write anything meaningful with fewer. Unless otherwise indicated, I allow my students to use available resources to assist them in their writing.
My students do not use all the sentence groups. Some are quite challenging to develop into comprehensible writing.
