This product is a student journal with a cover page and 20 journal entry prompts. There is a writing checklist and writing rubric included. I like to use the booklet creation function on the photocopier and make each one of my students their very own copy of the journal. We start each lesson with a discussion and brainstorm of possible ideas. Students are responsible for writing their responses and then using the checklist at the front of the book to go over their work before handing it in. At the bottom of the first page of every new journal prompt their is a simple student reflection checklist. I have included a marking rubric that I included at the back of every student journal. The cover page can be turned into a fun drawing lesson or free drawing activity. Options: You may choose to use a simplified version of this journal by omitting the second page of writing lines. I like to use a second page because I find that many students want to write a lot more that just the first page. This journal could also be sent home with students who are going on holiday during the year or with students over the summer holidays to keep working on their writing skills.
