Teaching little kinders to write well can be one of the most difficult challenges of kindergarten. But, watching them grow to be amazing little writers is a reward so worth the hard work! These journals are a quick, easy way for you to track your students' progress with their writing. Use them for writing time, partner work, or a simple writing station once you've set up norms. :) Pass around your journals and listen for the magic your kiddos can produce.
These journals include 2 covers for each month, each with a different graphic. All covers come with the month written in a script font as well as a more plain, circle font (see preview and thumbnails). There are 4 options to use for writing papers. There are 2 options with dotted, primary lines (one with more lines, one with less) and 2 options with plain black lines (one with more lines, one with less). All writing pages include a space for an illustration after they're finished writing their story. There is also a page you can include at the front of every journal for your kiddos to record ideas they want to write about in the future! This makes an easy spot to reference when you hear, "I don't know what to write about!" :)
These are easy on your printer ink (my kiddos LOVE to decorate the front when they first get their new one anyway!) and simple to assemble. Just print the cover and kind of writing page that you want, copy as many writing pages as you want to include, and staple them together. Easy peasy!
