This is the second edition to Writing Opinion Prompts. I've included mini-posters defining Fact and Opinion, pre-write organizers, an opinion writing checklist, suggestions for use, and 60 different opinion prompts. These might also be fun to ask students as part of a team building or "get to know you" type of activity. You'll find prompts such as:
In your opinion...
what should we do if an alien ship landed on earth?
what is the most ridiculous fashion trend?
what magical power would be the best to have?
what is the best thing for breakfast?
what is better: dogs or cats?
do you agree with having school uniforms?
what is the best board game ever?
would you rather go to the mountains or the beach?
and so many more.
Each prompt requires the students to explain "Why?" they hold their opinion.
I also have two other opinion writing products at my store, Teachers' Keeper. Writing Opinion Prompts #1 for Intermediate Grades
or Writing Opinion Prompts for Primary Grades
