This document is intended for writing and includes two checklists for students to self-check their own work. First, the stars will allow for students to check their coloring. I have a included a 3-star coloring chart in my classroom and students will be able to check their coloring to mine. For example, students can color 3 stars in when they have used real-life colors, stayed in the lines and left no white spaces. Then, the checklist on the side is for students to self-check their writing.It includes a magnifying glass because I like to refer to it as "using a writer's eye". Students can color or check the magnifying class if they have included that task in their writing.For example, if they used finger spaces throughout their writing sample, they can give themselves a check in the magnifying glass. Great way for students to monitor their writing and gain ownership in their writing!
The second page I use in the beginning of the school year and it is solely based on coloring and self-checking their coloring. I will introduce the 3-star coloring and set the expectations for the students. Students can label their picture if they want.
