I created this resource to review and practice paragraph writing with my 3rd-4th grade ESOL students in a quick, no-fuss way at the beginning of the year.
This differentiated booklet includes 10 half-page practice pages for the students to write simple informational and persuasive paragraphs. The topics are very basic and simple so the students can focus on the actual process of writing a paragraph.
Here are the differentiated versions:
Set 1: No differentiation
Set 2: Topic sentence provided
Set 3: Topic sentence provided and choices for the concluding sentence
Check out the preview to see an example of the three versions.
I have included a cover page and two review pages that you may choose to use, as well.
Here are the topics:
Write a paragraph about ways to keep entertained on a rainy day.
Write a paragraph describing different ways to take care of our Earth.
Write a paragraph about the best snacks for children to eat.
Write a paragraph comparing cats and dogs.
Write a paragraph about the differences between computers and smartphones.
Write a paragraph persuading your teacher that tablets are beneficial in school.
Write a paragraph about different animals that hibernate during the winter.
