Writing Personal Narratives: An Independent Writing Project

I created this resource for my students to use as they go through the writing process for writing personal narratives. I use this resources only after we've gone through the writing process once together. That way, they are familiar with the ways that we write, the tools that writers use, how we edit, and revise. This pack should not be used as an alternative to your instruction and should only be used to supplement your writing time. I keep this pack available to my students so that if they chose to write a personal narrative, they have the steps right at their fingertips. I also send it home so that parents can see what we are working on and so that students can write at home. I’ve found this to be a great way to especially get students revising/editing- which is difficult for my 2nd graders. It also helps students who don’t necessarily need a lot of extra instruction on the teachers part, or that like to learn/practice on their own.
