PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Use this presentation to support your instruction with Project Read’s Framing Your Thoughts, Sentence Structure, Predicate Expanders, Unit 2.

Now that your students can write bare bone sentences, it’s time to teach them how to add details to those sentences by expanding the predicate, and then give them lots of practice doing just that!

Included are:

• Definition of Bare Bone Sentence
• Predicate expanders: Where, How, When, Why
• Colorful illustrations with sample sentences for each predicate expander
• Beautiful photographs for independent practice
• Sentence suggestions for each photograph/illustration

This presentation was designed to be used over several days, not in just one lesson. A “THUMBS UP” slide separates each of the predicate expanders. I most always introduce one expander at a time. So after each predicate expander, you’ll find a slide with a “THUMBS UP” to let you know it’s a good spot to stop instruction and switch to guided and/or independent practice. After the Presentations, we continue working on skill work from FRAMING YOUR THOUGHTS and practice creating/diagramming/sentence mobility.
