This is a lesson plan on finding the probability of dependent and independent events and converting the fraction to a percent.
Students should already know how to find the probability of an event and write the probability as a fraction. This lesson takes the next step and converts the fraction to a percent. Students are then asked to use the percentage to determine if the chance of the event occurring is likely or unlikely.
The lesson plan is for a double-period class and includes a warm-up activity, minilesson with guided steps through the process, examples, class activities and a worksheet for homework. Answer keys included.
Common Core standards included on cover page for Grade 7 and High School.
NOTE: You may need Equation Editor or MathType to make changes to some of the symbols.
