Write Right! Essay Writing Made Easy 2018
Writing is a major focus in my classes, second only to teaching my students to think. Because of this, a few ago I created a packet, "Writing: Write Right! Analytic Writing Made Easy" (10 pages) to share what and how I teach about writing. After evaluating it, I decided it needed more specific teaching suggestions and lessons, and more activities for students to strengthen their writing prowess, confidence and sense of ownership. Now, titled "Writing: Write Right! Essay Writing Made Easy," it has grown to 81-pages and has morphed from an overview of expository and argument essay writing to a detailed handbook addressing: how to teach every part of an essay, and offering corresponding activities, as the Focus topics as the Table of Contents shows.
Here is what is included in this 81-page Power Point Write Right teaching plan. Each Focus section beginning with the 8th Topic, "Essay Parts, Purpose, Tone, and Syntax," and ending with the 26th, "Student Essay Sample is reinforced with 1-4 activities following information on the topic.
